Burning a Bootable CD

To create a bootable disk from an ISO file, you will need:

  • A computer with a CD/DVD burner
  • A blank CD-R or CD-RW
  • An ISO writing tool

How do I write an ISO to a CD?

Writing an ISO to a CD involves more than simply copying files to the CD. The CD must preserve the standardized format of the image in such a way that the computer can access data to boot. An ISO must be written to the CD using the proper tools.

Common applications, such as Nero or Roxio, can be used to write an ISO to a CD because they have the ISO writing capabilities built in. If you do not already have an application that can write an ISO, follow the instructions below to download a free ISO writing application.

Steps

  1. Download the isocd.exe. Save the file in the same location as the BitFlare.iso.
  2. Double click the isocd.exe file to run the program.
  3. Ensure the BitFlare ISO file is selected.
  4. Ensure the correct CD/DVD burner is selected.
  5. Click on the "Burn It" button.
  6. The tool will write the image to the CD. When the process is complete select "Ok." You now have a CD with the BitFlare program written to it.
