BitFlare is provided in the form of a bootable CD. A bootable CD contains an operating system that can be used to start the computer. Downloadable files for such CDs are usually provided in the form of an ISO file which is written to a blank CD disc. (An ISO image is an archive file (also known as a disk image) of an optical disc in a format defined by the International Organization for Standardization [ISO].)
